Job Summary
The Department of Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine (http://microbiology.med.uky.edu/) in partnership with the Sanders-Brown Center on Aging (https://medicine.uky.edu/centers/sbcoa) are seeking outstanding PhD, MD, or MD/PhD scientists to fill tenure-track, open-rank faculty positions in the field of Immunology and Aging. Potential areas of interest include, but are not restricted to, fundamental mechanisms governing innate and adaptive immune senescence and inflammatory responses. The candidate will also hold an appointment in the Sanders-Brown Center on Aging, an internationally respected center of excellence where independent basic/ translational and clinical scientists work in a collaborative environment. The Center on Aging includes the NIA-funded University of Kentucky Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center that provides outstanding resources that can support innovative research (e.g. longitudinally followed clinical cohorts, imaging, biomarkers, genetics, biospecimens, and statistical support). Successful candidates will have a track record of innovation and productivity, a desire to integrate into our growing community of collaborative biomedical researchers, and a dedication to our values of diversity. Candidates will be expected to build and maintain a high quality, extramurally funded research program; contribute to our teaching mission; mentor doctoral students and postdoctoral fellows; and provide service to the University and academic community at a level commensurate with his/her career stage.
