Job Summary
The University of Kentucky, College of Health Sciences, Department of Physical Therapy, is seeking a tenure track faculty member, Special Title Series, at rank determined by qualifications, to begin employment July 1, 2022.  
 
Our well-established and nationally respected program offers a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree on two campuses. Our Lexington, KY campus enrolls 48 students in each cohort and 18 students are enrolled in each cohort on the Hazard, KY campus, within the Center of Excellence for Rural Health. The program is accredited by the CAPTE.  This  position would be primarily located at the Hazard campus.  
 
The ideal candidate will have a strong background teaching anatomy and physiology with a possible interest in teaching histology and neuroanatomy. Participation in scholarly activities is expected and supported, along with university service activities. The University of Kentucky and Department of Physical Therapy have a strong commitment to cultural and ethnic diversity within the faculty and student body. Primary duties of this position include teaching in the relevant content areas, advancing a personal research agenda, building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external constituents, and mentoring students and faculty in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program. The position requires active engagement with other faculty and staff in the Center of Excellence. There will also be an opportunity to assume an active role in the CHS Health and Rehabilitation Sciences Doctoral Program. This program is a multi-disciplinary, multi-institutional Ph.D. program with faculty and students from the disciplines of Athletic Training & Clinical Nutrition, Health Services Research, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Physician Assistant Studies, and Speech-Language Pathology.  
 
Required Qualifications:
1.       A PhD or other terminal degree in anatomy, physiology or related field 
2.       If a physical therapist, a current physical therapy license in Kentucky or eligibility is required

1.       Teaching experience in the areas of gross anatomy and physiology
2.       Ability to engage in and produce scholarly work
3.       Academic leadership experience
4.       Demonstrated multicultural competency and experience interacting effectively with diverse groups of people
