Job Summary

The University of Kentucky, College of Health Sciences, Department of Physical Therapy, is seeking a tenure track faculty member at rank determined by qualifications, to begin employment July 1, 2020.

Our well-established and nationally respected program offers a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree on two campuses. Our Lexington, KY campus enrolls 48-50 and 16-18 students are enrolled on the Hazard, KY campus. The program is accredited by the CAPTE.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background teaching adult neurological examination, evaluation and intervention content, as well as interest in service-learning activities in global and community health. Participation in scholarly activities is expected and supported, along with university service activities. The University of Kentucky and Department of Physical Therapy have a strong commitment to cultural and ethnic diversity within the faculty and student body. Primary duties of this position include teaching in the relevant content areas, advancing a personal research agenda, building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external constituents, student and faculty mentorship and research guidance in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program. Faculty may also assume an active role in the CHS Rehabilitation Sciences Doctoral Program, a multi-disciplinary, multi-institutional Ph.D. program with faculty and students from the disciplines of Athletic Training & Clinical Nutrition, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Speech-Language Pathology.
