Job Summary
The Assistant Manager, Brand & Communications will be a part of the Brand Communications team which is responsible for implementing and optimizing all opportunities to tell the Ad Council story using the brands unique offerings within the industry through thought leadership, content development, event programming, social media and executive communications.
This is a contract employee role. This means that, while the position is at all times one of at will employment, the Ad Council anticipates at present that the employment length would be approximately 6 months with the possibility to extend the contract. The compensation for this position is $5,000 monthly, paid semi-monthly. Contract employees will be eligible to participate in limited benefits and paid time off. We are also open to this role being a fully remote position.
What youll do:
- Assisting the brand communications team with day-to-day activities such as background research on industry partners/conferences, industry awards, etc
- Drafting talking points and materials for the Ad Councils senior leadership team.
- Drafting Ad Council brand press materials, including press releases, pitches, talking points and blog posts.
- Drafting brand-related awards submissions, when appropriate.
- Contributing to PR, social media and brand strategy brainstorming sessions.
- Contributing to the Ad Councils blog for social good, including editing existing articles with updated SEO keywords.
- Monitoring Ad Council, issue and industry news coverage and content performance and preparing coverage reports and summaries/analyses of PR and social media activities.
- Provide coverage as need for the creation of social media content/messaging for social communities for the Ad Council brand (primary channels include Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube).
- Collaborate with our website content team to make minor content changes in our CMS.
What you bring:
- 1+ years of experience and marketing and communications
- Social media savvy
- Excellent writer can adjust copy to various mediums/audiences (including talking points, social posts, pitches, etc.)
- Extraordinary verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Self-motivated and goal oriented
- Passionate about social good and philanthropy
- Team Player who works well with others
- Ability to work East Coast hours
