Qualified candidates will have a clinical or research terminal degree (e.g. MD, PharmD, PhD) in the health sciences with explicit training or experience in IS.

Required Related Experience

A developing or sustained record of using varied IS models and methods applied to the prevention and treatment of ASUD; a developing or sustained record of scholarly achievement in IS as appropriate based on rank; and a strong track record of acquiring extramural research funding or potential to acquire extramural funding as appropriate based on rank

Job Summary

The College of Pharmacy at the University of Kentucky (College) invites applications for a qualified implementation scientist at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Professor to maintain, coordinate, and integrate research on implementation science (IS). The College has a long history of excellence in basic, clinical and applied sciences research across its departments of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Pharmacy Practice and Science. These efforts span the translational research continuum, focusing on health issues that impact patients at the local and national level. The College is one of six colleges within the academic medical center of the University with many opportunities for interdisciplinary collaborative research. The University boasts three renowned research centers with specific focus in the area of alcohol and substance use disorders (ASUDs). The College seeks to grow the research enterprise by strategically investing in the area ASUDs.

Implementation science is the study of methods to promote the adoption and integration of evidence-based practices, interventions and policies into routine health care and public health settings. We seek candidates to maintain, coordinate, and integrate IS research in the area of ASUD. Specifically, we seek candidates with a focus on ASUD to support collaborative science that ultimately improves human health by preventing and treating ASUDs. Additional responsibilities include teaching and mentoring students in the professional and graduate programs of the College.
