Knowledge of psychiatric practices in a variety of clinical, teaching, and research environments, as well as a demonstrated ability in teaching students at all levels in an academic environment.

Previous experience providing psychiatric services through evidence-based psychotherapy, psychological testing and related services. Qualified candidates will have demonstrated experience collaborating with physicians in diagnosing and treating patients with mental health conditions. Experience in supervising other clinicians and serving in a leadership capacity is essential for this position.

Current licensure (LCSW, Ph.D., LPP, etc.), or eligibility to obtain licensure and/or industry-standard board certification in the field of psychotherapy, psychological testing or related services to practice in the state of Kentucky.

The Department of Psychiatry at the University Of Kentucky College of Medicine is seeking an open-rank position to serve as the Director of Psychotherapy & Psychological Services. The successful candidate must be committed to excellence in clinical care as well as teaching, administration, and professional development. Preferred experience includes previous experience in providing psychotherapy and/or psychological testing services to adults, children and adolescents as well as experience in teaching medical students, residents, and other health professionals.

This position will be instrumental to expand outpatient psychotherapy and psychological testing services for the diagnosis and treatment of psychiatric conditions via in-person and telemedicine care to patients located throughout Central and Eastern Kentucky. In addition, this position will serve as the direct supervisor for all faculty and non-faculty therapists, counselors and psychologists in the Department of Psychiatry. This individual will provide leadership to the department and collaborate with the Division Directors and Psychiatry Administration to develop, implement and achieve goals related to psychotherapy and psychological testing. This individual will be charged with providing leadership for evidence-based care and access for patients seeking psychotherapy and psychological testing services.

Demonstrated ability to relate and communicate with internal and external faculty, staff, and other clients of the department. Demonstrated experience providing psychotherapy or psychological testing services to adults, children and adolescents in an outpatient setting using evidence-based treatments.

Master’s degree required and terminal degree preferred such as Ph.D. is Psychology, Social Work or related discipline.

Evidence of high level of clinical and training/teaching competence in psychotherapy

Previous experience in providing psychiatric services, psychotherapy and/or psychological testing services, and serving as a clinician educator is preferred.

Demonstrated ability in teaching students at all levels in an academic environment at the graduate or post graduate level
