Job Summary	The University of Kentucky invites applications for an opening for a tenure-track/tenured position of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor in the Department of Health Behavior & Society, housed in the CEPH-accredited College of Public Health. The Department is multi-disciplinary with a focus on cultivating research careers that add to evidence-based public health practice. The Department includes a vibrant and diverse collection of full-time faculty members who conduct research in a variety of areas including cancer, sexual health, rural health, women’s health, health disparities, social determinants of health, community food and nutrition, and mental health. Faculty members maintain a robust teaching agenda in the College’s academic programs, which include the Master of Public Health (MPH) and Bachelor of Public Health (BPH) degrees, as well as other graduate and doctoral programs in the College. We seek an individual who is actively building a focused research agenda, preferably an agenda that is consistent with the funding priorities of the U.S. Public Health Service. Further, the preferred candidate will demonstrate a strong potential for success in both undergraduate and graduate-level teaching in various public health courses offered by the Department. The selected individual will teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate students. The selected individual will also be expected to fill local (department, college, and university levels), state, and professional service functions. The initial proposed distribution of effort is: Research-50%; Teaching-40%; Service 10%. The DOE is negotiated annually with the department chair. Applicants must have a PhD in Health Behavior, or a closely aligned discipline. Applicants with at least one-year of postdoctoral experience are strongly encouraged to apply. Persons applying before March 31st, 2023 will be given priority; however, the position will remain open until filled. The earliest start date for this position is the fall semester of 2023; later start dates are entirely negotiable. Skills / Knowledge / Abilities	Demonstrated ability in research, teaching, and service. Ability to relate with internal and external constituencies of the University involved in related disciplines. Interpersonal skills in communicating with a wide variety of professionals within and outside the University. A good understanding of public health issues and research in this area.
