The successful candidate will demonstrate strategic, technical expertise in areas such as big data analytics for strategic communication, data mining, data-driven storytelling or machine learning with an interest in digital advertising and/or industry experience in areas such as digital/mobile/social media advertising and direct response marketing strategy. Applications are encouraged from candidates whose research programs are in digital marketing/strategic communication. Research and/or teaching experience in the area of sports promotion/strategic communication is a plus.
This position also will contribute to the department’s undergraduate education and the graduate certificate program in data-driven strategic communication with ability to teach courses on one or more of the following topics: data analytics in ISC, data analysis and visualization, artificial intelligence and machine learning, data driven strategic communication, strategic communication insight through analytics, social media/mobile strategy, digital strategies, direct response, and integrated strategic media management. Ability to engage students in the application of platforms such as Tableau, Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, Hubspot, Google Ads, or Ads Manager and programming languages such as Python or R through hands-on learning is strongly desirable.
As part of regular duties, the faculty member would serve as an academic advisor to undergraduate and graduate students and would participate in the department’s and graduate program’s governance and service. Regular-title ISC faculty are encouraged to propose and teach special-topics undergraduate and graduate courses that take advantage of personal interests, research interests, and experiences in the field.
