We have an exciting opportunity for an AREA CHANNEL MANAGER in the CHICAGO, ILLINOIS (or other major Midwest) area (significant travel required).

Overview of this position:

  • Reports to the General Manager of Sales.

  • Manages the MIDWEST AND WESTERN territories in an outside sales role.

  • Plays a key role in implementing the National Distribution Strategy.

  • Leverages internal collaboration, technology and company resources to make it easy for the channel partners to do business with Mahr.

  • Manages and develops both existing and new Regional partners, assists with National partners as needed and drives growth through this channel.

  • Works closely with the General Manager of Sales, Director of Sales and Regional Sales Managers in developing the distribution channel nationwide.


  • Minimum 5 years related industrial distribution sales administration / channel partner sales management experience.

  • A technical degree is required or commensurate military and on the job training; 4 year Engineering, Business Management or Administration degree a plus.

  • Experience in the measurement, control or instrumentation sector a plus.

  • Solid understanding of distribution partners and the ability to manage the complexity of relationships and business plans.

  • Excellent planning and organizational skills, with ability to analyze market and business opportunities, as well as the ability to effectively communicate to staff and key stakeholders.

  • Strong team leader and relationship manager abilities.

  • Experience in an international business environment desired, ideally within a European subsidiary operation in the U.S.
