Description:

Seeking an Analyzer Technician with instrumentation proficiency for the La Porte plant M&R Team. The technicians primary purpose is to provide maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs to analyzers (process, environmental, and safety) in an industrial setting as well as being responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance on instrumentation equipment at the plant, as needed

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Able to maintain Gas Chromography Analyzers, Moisture Analyzers, LEL Meters, Online utility Analyzers and sample systems.
  • Upkeep and maintenance in PLCs and Microprocessors related to analytical systems.
  • Perform Corrective and Preventive Maintenance on plant instrumentation.
  • Perform calibrations of instrumentation and testing of interlocks.
  • Effectively use typical test and calibration equipment including pneumatic calibrators, RTD calibrators, digital and analog multi-meters, meggers, and laptops for equipment communication.
  • Utilize prints and plant documentations to resolve equipment problems.
  • Run conduit, cable, tubing, etc. as necessary to facilitate maintenance of equipment.
  • Document work performed in procedures and/or work packages and update equipment records and files in plant library as appropriate.
  • Maintain portable measuring and test equipment, and electrical safety equipment in accordance with established requirements.

Requirements:

High School diploma.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of I&E experience in maintenance within a chemical plant environment and at least 5 years Analyzer Chromatography experience. Demonstrated troubleshooting and fault isolation skills, good organizational skills be detail oriented and have a willingness to document details appropriately.. The candidate must be willing to be called out on off shifts and/or weekends to support plant operations, and must be willing to work overtime when required. This position requires work to be performed outdoors as well as indoors, frequent walking, standing, and climbing with the ability to perform elevated work using portable ladders, scaffolding, and fall protection equipment. The position also involves repetitive motion, stair climbing, and frequent lifting of weights up to 60 pounds.

Preferred Skills, Education and Experience:

  • Experience with SAP.
  • Degree or certification in I&E related field.
  • Extensive prior I&E experience in a chemical plant.
  • Experience in ABB, Yokagawa, and Siemens Gas Chromatography Equipment.
  • Very strong organizational skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office applications (Word, Excel, etc.)
