Role Summary:The AMW Lead Advanced Manufacturing Engineer is the bridge between innovative ideas and production-ready advanced technology to manufacture parts we couldnt before, enable speed to market, provided seamless entry into production and transform the way we work.

The AMW Advanced Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for developing and industrializing processes, equipment, and components to deliver value to our business partners.



Essential Responsibilities:As the AMW Lead Advanced Manufacturing Engineer you will:





+ Evaluate, test, and implement hot gas path component manufacturing processes like fast hole drill EDM, milling, grinding, joining and laser ablation for turbine and test hardware.



+ Develop inspection processes for component validation



+ Design and build / procure necessary tooling and finishing within budgets



+ Support equipment upgrades from purchase through installation



+ Conduct cost/benefit analysis for changes to processes and/or equipment



+ Drive Process Improvement / Cycle Reduction initiatives and drive productivity improvements via process changes or improvements



+ Ensure processes contribute to a safe work environment



+ Identify and reduce product quality issues caused by process variation



+ Lead New Technology Initiatives (NTI) and share best practices with other locations



+ Utilize lean-manufacturing principles and participate in action workouts to improve process capability, reduce overall costs and increase capacity







Qualifications/Requirements:



+ Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university and 3 years experience, OR high school diploma/GED and at least 5 years of manufacturing process experience





ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:







+ Ability to travel up to 20%





Desired Characteristics:



+ Strong CAD/CAM Skills



+ Prior inspection experience in CMM, Bluelight, and airflow



+ Product expertise in gas turbine or aviation components



+ Prior manufacturing process improvement experience



+ Strong statistical process capability analysis skills preferred



+ Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications



+ Ability to manage priorities and achieve results



+ Prior exposure to and knowledge of Lean Manufacturing is preferred



+ Strong Project Management skills



+ Strong oral and written communication skills



+ Strong interpersonal and leadership skills



+ Six Sigma training is preferred



+ Prior Milling, Grinding, Joining, Fast Hole EDM, Sinker EDM, or laser drilling experience
