Required License/Registration/Certification

For Nurse Practitioner applicants, active Kentucky Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license.
For Physician Assistant applicants, current National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) certification and active Kentucky Physician Assistant (PA) license.
Employment is contingent upon the University’s verification of credentials as required by state law and University policies.

On feet for extended periods of a time.

Shift

Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:00pm (40 hours per week) + approximately one 28 hour call shift per week. This position does not qualify for overtime pay. May be required to work holidays and weekends if call shift is scheduled on these days.

Job Summary

This position is a one year Advanced Practice Provider Resident position. This year will serve to train the resident to provide care and management of infants in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Duties will include newborn resuscitation, management of conventional and high frequency ventilation/nutrition/medications, physical examinations of patients, ordering and evaluating diagnostic tests and providing pre- and post-operative care. Residents will also perform procedures common to the NICU.
