Job Description

Teva is seeking an Associate Director (AD) SIte Engineering - Facilities & Utilities to join our team in Irvine, CA!

The AD of Facilities & Utilities Engineering oversees teams involved in the 24/7 plant operation and maintenance of the facility and the various utility systems at TEVA, Irvine.


You will:

  • Serve as the Engineering Technical leader supporting  the maintenance and engineering needs for GMP and Non GMP systems including: Electrical, Automation, HVAC, Chillers, Compressors, etc.
  • Support and manage deviations and investigations related to GMP utility systems
  • Support the technical network to improve system standards and specifications
  • Improve consistency of equipment selection
  • Support Capital Projects with technical expertise and interface between the A&E firms, Construction and Quality to ensure on-time delivery of Maintenance improvement projects and our site assets
  • Support process development to ensure adherence to technical and regulatory requirements
  • Support  the vendor selection program
  • Help guide the global organization to focus on a strategic direction with long-term facility asset management
  • Communicate with senior management on a regular basis and interface productively with the corporate departments
  • Liaise with the Technical Engineering organization to ensure cross-functional information sharing and learning
  • Manage and review contracted maintenance work to ensure work is done correctly and in a quality manner and oversee the fire alarms and protection systems
  • Be responsible for Enterprise Asset Management (EAM). Assign, review and close-out routine and non-routine work orders; Review EAM job plans and make changes where needed
  • Manage the Maintenance timekeeping, approve end of pay period timecards, enter and maintain record of vacation, sick and personal days
  • Assign tasks to 2nd and 3rd shift teams, track progress and verify completion of maintenance and critical system operations
  • Verify all direct reports keep up to date with compliance, GMP and safety training
  • Participate in performance management process for all direct reports
  • Seek out cost savings, document savings and submit for review
  • 10+ years Engineering related experience in a highly regulated manufacturing environment required
  • Pharma experience strongly preferred
  • 8+ years previous supervisory/management experience
  • Bachelors degree required. Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred
  • A proven track record of successful facilities management leadership experience
  • FDA audit experience strongly preferred. Experience with other regulatory bodies including: EPA, city and local authorities preferred
  • In depth knowledge of OSHA regulations preferred
  • Demonstrated people skills, analytical, thorough and creative problem-solver
  • A proven track record of successful leadership experience
  • Demonstrated business and financial acumen with a P&L understanding
  • Optimistic, energetic and passionate attitude
  • Possess a strong work ethic, ability to work in a fast-paced environment and team-oriented approach
