Zoot is currently accepting applications for a full time Accounting Technician to help our Accounting team achieve Zoots goals. The Accounting Technician position focuses on computing, classifying, and recording numerical data to keep financial records complete. They also ensure the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to business transactions recorded by other workers.
Zoots Accounting Group is primarily responsible for the proper, accurate and timely processing and reporting of the financial transactions of Zoot Enterprises and its subsidiaries and affiliates.

This position will be located on-site in the Zoot Bozeman, Montana Headquarters. No remote work.
Essential Job Functions
- Operate computers programmed with accounting software to record, store, and analyze information.
- Create and code transactions and documents according to company procedures.
- Create, calculate, classify, record, and analyze revenues and expenses.
- Create, classify, record, and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records, using journals and ledgers or computers.
- Debit, credit, and total accounts on computer spreadsheets and databases, using accounting software.
- Check figures, postings, time entries, documents and postings for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes.
- Identify and research discrepancies and unusual information found in records and resolve as appropriate.
- Compile statistical, financial, accounting or auditing reports and tables pertaining to such matters as cash receipts, expenditures, accounts payable and receivable.
- Analyze data and make independent decisions within the established procedures.
- Process payroll and all associated tasks for Zoot subsidiaries and affiliates. Including but not limited to; time tracking, time sheet validation, new hires, terms, advances, bonus, benefit and time off maintenance, liability calculations and remittances, all required regulatory filings, etc.
- Coordinate develop and maintain a paperless payroll processing system and document retention.
- Setup and maintain external portals as necessary for assigned accounting areas.
- Assist in developing plans, designs and maintaining processes and procedures for efficient tracking of accounts payable and accounts receivable account information.
- Assist in handling routine inquiries from both internal and external sources, including annual audit inquiries.
- Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Compliance with and knowledge of Zoots Policies and Procedures, Code of Business Conduct, and Employee Agreement.
- Achieve a service-focused culture with emphasis on delivering on-time, high-quality products and services to internal and external customers.
- Other duties as assigned it is understood that this list of major duties and responsibilities is not an inclusive list and that other duties and responsibilities, which may include helping others in the same or different departments, may be assigned by supervision.
Education, Training, and Experience Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Two or four year degree in Accounting, Business, or related field is preferred.
- 1+ years of accounting-related experience is preferred. Direct accounts payable or receivable experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated high proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Previous experience with enterprise accounting software preferred, Deltek Vision is a plus.
- Track record of providing detailed, quality service to any and all stakeholders.
Physical Requirements:
- All positions at Zoot require the ability to move about inside an office environment which includes the operation of computers and other office productivity machinery and frequently communicates with other employees, clients, vendors, and visitors.
- This position specifically requires long periods of sitting at a computer workstation.
Working Conditions
- This position will take place primarily in an office setting.
- This position will require travel 5% of the time.
