Ovum, part of Informa Group, is currently seeking a Key Account Director to join our team. Ovum is the world’s leading provider of business intelligence. We offer more metrics and insight across more markets, than any other provider. We are currently looking to add a Key Account Director to our team.

 

Position Description

 

The role will be selling our flagship products and as an Account Director within our US Key Accounts Sales team, your role will involve:

 

  • Achieve revenue and activity targets by focusing on the largest players in the IT, Media & Telecoms sectors with the objective of establishing, developing and maintaining relationships with the acquired clients.
  • Creatively prospect, pursue and secure new business from strategic organizations within a defined US territory.
  • Present Ovum’s products and services both over the phone and in F2F presentations.
  • Build long term relationships and develop account plans for revenue growth to ensure high renewal rates and meet annual spend increase objectives.
  • Determine and understand key client business challenges, developing tailored solutions using a consultative sales process within all levels of the organization.

 

The successful applicant will possess:

 

  • A drive to succeed in sales above all else. Key attributes to success include being goal driven, relationship focused and strategic thinker, strong business acumen, inquisitive and highly competitive.
  • Sales and account management competency is important to Ovum and seek candidate who possess the below key characteristics:

Offers a unique perspective
Drives two-way communication
Understands customers value drivers
Can identify economic drivers
Comfortable in negotiations of up to high 6 figure contracts
Can assert pressure comfortably and professionally

  • A minimum of 7+ years of experience in a B2B solution sales environment including proven success with inside and outside sales roles.
  • A BS or BA (or higher) degree
  • Experience presenting market research, competitive intelligence, decision support, and influence is desired.
  • Demonstrable results selling a solution leveraging a consultative approach is required, not a transactional sales experience.
  • Strong presentation, organizational, communication, negotiation and closing skills both by phone and in person.
  • Highly developed business acumen and ability to understand the wider issues of the technology and telecommunications industry.
  • Experience in client development and retention skills with demonstrable long term profitable partnerships.
  • Ability to work in an unstructured environment, process oriented, highly organized and extremely self-motivated are a must.
