**Role Summary:**























Baker Hughes, a GE company has an opening for Technical Specialist in (Upstream Chemicals) in Minot, ND.























**Essential Responsibilities:**



















+ Provides technical expertise in upstream chemicals for oil and gas production systems.



+ Engages in problem solving for production issues providing chemical recommendations and solutions.



+ Conducts system surveys, field analyses on site, product evaluation and performance testing, and writes proposals. Evaluates monitoring data and analytical laboratory data.



+ Provides technical leadership to local account managers for upstream chemicals and consultation for their chemical programs.



+ Conducts training for internal and external customers, gives presentations to customers, and participates in customer interface.



+ Integrates with area technical team for information exchange, joint projects, and area technical responsibilities.



+ Must spend 1/3 of time in field, 1/3 of time lab testing, 1/3 of the time on reports, presentations, customer meetings.













**Qualifications/Requirements:**



















+ Must have Bachelors Degree in Science or Engineering Discipline.



+ 2+ year experience working in a Lab, Science weighted environment, or Technical Field Work.



+ Solid Communication skills with the ability to interact with internal and external customers, and technical team members.



+ Professional Writing skills.



+ Basic Computer skills and knowledge of MS Office Suite.



+ Ability to manage data sets and analyze



+ Self-starter, independent, and not requiring micromanagement.



+ Must be a strong team player willing to bond/network with high caliber technical team













**Desired Characteristics:**



















+ 2+ years experience working with in the oil and gas industry in a technical field role.



+ 2+ years experience providing expertise to oil and gas clients.



+ Strong background in Chemistry.
