Supervisor, Distribution



The Inbound Supervisor coordinates and supervise all functions relating to freight movement into the warehouse, counting, processing, inspecting, replenishing and locating of inbound merchandise. This position is responsible for training and supervising employees to meet company standards of customer service, cost, safety and security.



Job Description:


Interacts with purchasing, accounting and Sales by responding to all inquiries concerning purchase orders, receipts, inventory counts, etc.  Communicates with various trucking companies to inquirer about transit time and delivery schedules.

Primary Accountabilities


Define the scope and manage all training development projects.  Define content.  Build appropriate models.  Create instructor's guides, participant's guides, slide presentations, notes, visuals, computer-based training programs, web-based training programs, job aids, games, training tools, role plays, simulations, etc. to design independent portions of a larger training development project


Manage the development process of complex training interventions without supervision via project development plans.  Research existing materials to gather information about the desired training topic. Conduct field visits for learning and performance needs. Interview subject matter experts to gather information about the desired training topic.


Lead projects with multiple staff assigned as assigned by supervisor.  Including the management of multiple projects simultaneously,  and coach or mentor junior team members.


Mentor instructional design staff in instructional design, problem-solving and adult learning theory.


Define and design programs and interventions including the preparation of program goals and objectives; perform usability testing and editing of design work.


Design program evaluation instruments using appropriate level 1,2, 3, and 4 program evaluation tools.


Required Knowledge and Skills:


Education and Experience:  (Required education, training, licenses, accreditation or certification and quantity and type of directly related experience. In many cases an “equivalency,” consisting of a combination of education and prior directly related experience, is sufficient for the individual to perform the job satisfactorily.)


  • 3 or more years experience in a high volume distribution facility
  • High School Diploma.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft excel and word.
  • Two years experience in a management position.
  • or equivalent combination of experience that gives the individual the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to do the job

  • Is able to expertly adult learning theory
  • Has excellent model building skills
  • Proficient in the problem-solving processes
  • Understands and applies project management skills
  • Is able to assess all training programs using proven statistical models and evaluation interventions, project trends, visualize situations, visualize implications, assess alternatives, and negotiate toward a common goal.

  • Understands and applies job tools/aids techniques to training initiatives
  • Has intellectual versatility
  • Is able to interact successfully in front of large groups
  • Demonstrates strong presentation skills

  • Effectively interfaces with senior management and subject matter experts

  • Understand the clinical trials industry; related regulations; and the operational implications
  • Be able to assess and understand current training program statistics and evaluate interventions, project trends, visualize situations, visualize implications, and assess alternatives
  • Use Kronos, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel at a master level and be able to learn other training development tools
