Sales Director, Key Accounts - Agribusiness Intelligence  |  Memphis, TN

 

The Sales Director, Key Accounts will be leading two high-growth and high-profile teams within Agribusiness Intelligence.  The first is our global key accounts team, with individuals in the US and the UK and the second is our IEG Vantage corporate account teams, based in the US.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

 

  • Lead, hire, train, motivate and supervise a team of sales professionals
  • Run and own specific sales opportunities or accounts, sourcing new clients and building new relationships, maintaining existing client relationships, achieving and exceeding sales goals, and implementing creative sales strategies.
  • Support the team in achieving and exceeding challenging revenue targets and sales objectives
  • Be a role model for the team
  • Work with the Global Head of Sales and your team to design and execute against robust key account plans, utilizing the broader Agribusiness Intelligence team across marketing, consultancy, our market analysts and product management
  • Develop individual members of the team through coaching and mentoring and accompanying them on client visits
  • Increase the growth potential in existing accounts and acquiring new clients in a competitive sales environment
  • Cement and own key client relationships
  • Lead a number of projects and initiatives, focusing on increasing the efficiency and productivity of the sales team
  • Present and negotiate up to Board level in any organization
  • Expected to spend 20-30% of time in the field

 

Required Skills:

 

  • Minimum 8 years' sales experience required
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in running a sales team
  • You should have developed account plans and be able to demonstrate an understanding of how to build and deliver on strategic account planning initiatives
  • Experience using Salesforce.com will be highly beneficial
  • Proven track record of leading sales teams
  • Diagnose issues/problems within sales process/methodologies and how to coach and train to overcome
  • Set a precedent for positivity - be a “can-do” team
  • Ability to develop and nurture self-sufficient A players
  • Territory management
  • Excellent communication skills
  • High personal standards
