Qualified candidates must be able to manage a queue of work and be self-directed, collaborative, analytical and proactive in execution and problem resolution. The Senior Data Analyst is responsible to



Perform as the authoritative Retail data Subject Matter Expert (SME) who will be hands-on with the data, understanding overall flow and usage of data from upstream sources through the capital calculations and reporting, including understanding regulations, policy interpretation, product mix, derivations, risk drivers, calculation logic, and downstream capital processes



Drive operational excellence ensuring critical data process controls and activities are performed for data consumed by the capital calculators during the monthly production cycle, ensuring DQ scripts and processes controls remain timely and relevant, and ensuring ad hoc requests and data incidents are researched, documented, and resolved



Analyze data issues within established SLA timelines and recommends Defect or Enhancement classification through prioritization and governance functions



Understanding the overall flow and usage of data consumed by the Retail Capital calculator and Retail modeling processes. This included understanding regulations, historical sources, data anomalies, product mix, derivations, risk drivers, and calculations. Also, understand how retail data inputs to Capital models and calculators are leveraged to drive out PD, LGD and EAD parameters used in RWA/capital calculations. Includes monitoring monthly and historical data controls and DQ measurements while resolving material prioritized data defects



Collaborate with upstream business and technology partners to prioritize needs, and influence actions to resolve identified data defects and deliver enhancements in a timely fashion



Act as key representative for Retail data on all project initiatives developing requirements, testing strategies, identifying risks, impacts and ultimately defining key success factors. Effectively present to and influence business and technology leadership.



Provide guidance and support to the Retail DSE Liaison and Sourcing Analyst in the execution of their tasks.



Enterprise Description: Manages a group of staff responsible for developing and evaluating quantitative analytics/modeling for specific business units or types of transactions. Directs activity of staff in their area in providing support to the business unit and to other business units within Bank of America. Actively involved in the analytics effort, but spends significant amount of time managing staff and coordinating projects. Acts as a senior level resource or resident expert on particular analytic/quantitative modeling techniques. Provides guidance to staff on areas of expertise.



**Required Skills:**

Strong individual contributor, self-managed, and able to work in a cross-functional team structure

Business knowledge of consumer loans characteristics and exposure data including mortgage, bank card, auto and other consumer loans

General knowledge of financial markets, retail products, risk management, and Basel capital rules

Must be able to manage concurrent efforts in a fast paced environment, adapt to changing requirements, manage multiple tasks, and work well under pressure

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to target messaging to diverse audiences

Strong SQL and MS Excel skills (e.g. joins, case statements, pivot tables)

Strong Testing abilities (Test Plan definition, Script writing, Test Execution, Analysis and Regression Testing)

Ability to reconcile consumer loan data to the General Ledger and other definitive sources

Results oriented with demonstrated ability to drive action and sustain momentum to quickly develop subject matter expertise across a broad spectrum of issues

Bachelors degree with 7+ years of experience in capital or risk data analysis, quantitative finance modeling or Masters degree with 5+ years of related experience



**Desired Skills:**

Knowledge of credit systems and processes

Knowledge of modeling and data tools preferred (e.g. SAS, Python, Toad, and Tableau).

Working knowledge of other Microsoft Office products

Working knowledge of Bank of Americas data portals including Teradata, Netezza, and Hadoop.

Proficiency with project management deliverables and effective liaison between business and technology
