Our Process Engineering Team builds, designs, and maintains processes and labor standards to ensure our team members are able to execute process efficiently to capitalize on sales and deliver a great guest experience.  The Process Optimization Lead will analyze and model future retail innovations to ensure we are consistently operating as efficiently as possible while delivering the desired guest experience. The Process Optimization lead will work alongside operation team members, to understand the current process, identify the drivers for improvement, analyze root causes of performance gaps, and redesign end-to-end processes as part of the deployment of the lean system to a store process.  
  • Create strong partnerships with HQ team members that own and influence Stores process, including Store Operations Process Owners, Store Merchants, Merchandising Planning, Food & Beverage and Supply Chain
  • Leads work streams as part of process optimization and design to identify impactful opportunities for operational improvements
  • Takes a hands-on approach to ensure the diagnostic, design and implementation of optimization tools within the business is performed to high standard and consistency with Target’s Stores Modernization Strategy
  • Helps run working sessions with business stakeholders that drive to conclusions, agreement and outcomes
  • Recommend, model and analyze changes to in stores processes and technology to minimize labor and maximize efficiency
  • Analyze productivity data, identify trends, and recommend methods to increase efficiency in effort to maximize guest experience, team member satisfaction and operational excellence
  • Coaches process teams and on the standard lean systems, tools, techniques, mindsets and behaviors
  • Maintain expertise of Target best practice and industry best practice regarding the work that occurs in Target stores and the Retail Industry
  • Continue to grow expertise in the technology and make recommendations on their application to improve efficiency of operations
  • Bachelor’s in Industrial Engineering or related degree
  • 6-9 Years of practical experience
  • Strong math, analytical, and problem solving skills
  • 5 years of work experience in IE (Process Improvement) field
  • Green Belt Certified and/or demonstrated knowledge in utilizing various engineered optimization methods (TQM, Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma)
  • Experience in developing engineered standards preferred
  • Willing to take risks, challenge the status quo and work under ambiguous circumstances
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills                                                                                 
  • Proven ability to collaborate, lead, facilitate, and communicate with teams across a broad range of education, experience, and functional spectrums
  • Strong ability to identify, define and resolve ambiguous problems
  • Proven experience in collaborating with and influencing cross functional groups
  • Ability to manage and adjust multiple priorities in fast paced environment
  • Ability to manage projects effectively
