## Job Mission

ASML is seeking a Senior Computational Materials Science Engineer with multi discipline competencies to join the Wilton Ct. development location. We are seeking an individual with a strong background in Materials Science, Mechanics of Materials, and Numerical Methods. A background in nonlinear modeling, including elastoplasticity, contact modeling, or fatigue modeling is desirable. Good complex mechanical system intuition is also highly desirable.

## Job Description

Primary Responsibilities

* Interact with ASML system architects leading the development effort of critical opto-mechanical (Silicon Litho) systems.
* Provide new insights into, and significantly expand our understanding of, the properties of materials or phenomena associated with their design, synthesis, processing, characterization, and utilization—including the strength assessments of adhesive-bonded coated optics.
* Develop both analytic and numerical models that show technical feasibility in a cross discipline coupled environment.
* Guide design engineers with supporting analysis through feasibility, concept, and detail design.
* Develop and teach junior Computational Materials Science engineers.


* Customer oriented and willing to work with high level problem solvers on a daily basis.
* Genuine interest in mathematical modeling, materials science, mechanics, and software simulation.
* Genuine interest in developing precision systems that can perform reliably at customer sites
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* High energy, self-motivated, quick study with flexible nature.

## Education

* M.S. or Ph.D. in Materials Science with Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience

## Experience

* Demonstrated experience with computational modeling & problem solving.
* Customer centric personal ethos.
