Description:

SAIC has a contingent job opportunity for a Chief Engineer to support Military Sealift Command (MSC). This position is contingent upon contract award and located in Virginia Beach, VA.

Establishes overall technical direction of the program so that the system portfolio is interoperable, common and comprehensive technical processes are used, and the technologies used are current, sufficient, scalable, and extensible to meet current and emergent system requirements.

Skills: Oracle Financial/Business Applications

Provide technical, managerial, and administrative direction for problem definition, analysis, requirements development, and implementation for complex to extremely complex systems in the subject matter area. Make recommendations and advise on organization-wide system improvements, optimization or maintenance efforts in the following specialties: information systems architecture; networking; telecommunications; automation; communications protocols; risk management/electronic analysis; software; lifecycle management; software development methodologies; and modeling and simulation. Commensurate experience in IT and in new and related older technology that directly relates to the required area of expertise.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

- Bachelor's MIS, CS, Math or related, or four years experience in lieu of degree
- Six or more years’ technical experience directly related to software/system development related to the implementation and maintenance of management information systems and or software intensive systems. Education Requirement identified above can be used as contributing part of the general experience.
- Shall have, within the general experience requirement, five (5) years specialized experience that includes: system development from with emphasis on the functions they are qualifying as a SME. Specific experience may have been gained concurrently with General Experience.

- MCSD, Sun certified

REQUIRED CLEARANCE:

- Must possess an active Secret security clearance
