Overview

The Biologics, Assay and Technology group in Teva is seeking a motivated individual with extensive experience in translational sciences to support multiple disease areas of interest including respiratory, and neurological therapeutic areas. Responsibilities will include leading scientific research to identify, evaluate, and develop assays and markers that will provide useful pharmacodynamics, safety or efficacy endpoints in preclinical and clinical settings. The position will support the development of translational strategies and implement them to maximize the potential of Teva Biologic drugs. The candidate should be an expert in ligand binding and cell-based assays, utilizing a variety of technology platforms such as flow cytometry, immunocytochemistry, and molecular techniques. The successful candidate will be capable of setting goals, multitasking, understanding priorities, and planning timelines. Effective communication and collaboration are crucial. The position will based in West Chester PA.  

Responsibilities

  • Broad understanding of biologic drug discovery & development
  • Experience in cellular and biochemical science. Demonstrated hands-on experience in MoA research and cellular biomarker analysis, protein-based biomarker and/ pharmacodynamics assays.
  • Development of in vitro assays and technologies to evaluate efficacy, safety and PK/PD relationship to characterize drug candidates for potential therapeutic effects. 
  • Technically proficient, strategic and collaborative with strong scientific creativity, affinity for technology and problem solving skills and ability to identify and evaluate cutting edge assay technologies.
  • Responsible for design, planning, conduct and troubleshooting of multiple experiments to ensure high data quality. 
  • Familiar with GCP/GLP assay development and fit for purpose assay assessment.
  • Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision in managing multiple projects and priorities. Create specific translational goals and be accountable for their delivery
  • Ability to collaborate and work in a matrixed environment and work with collaborative, multi-functional teams.
  • Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills; able to articulate complex scientific concepts and finding to diverse functional groups. Able to prepare and make presentations within the department and  externally as require
  • Mentor or direct others as needed.
  • Ability to evaluate and interface with CRO for execution of services

Qualifications

 

 

  • A PhD degree is required in a relevant scientific area with a minimum of 9 years of experience in the Pharmaceutical/ Biotech/ Bioanalytical Laboratory or industry setting experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry within a laboratory setting.
  • In-depth understanding and hands-on expertise in Translational Science.
  • Knowledge of Regulatory Guidance,  work with Regulatory Agencies,  experience in preparing regulatory documents and/or interacting with regulatory agencies is required
  • Strong GLP/ GCP experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
